One of my clients called me about three months ago to and asked me if I knew anything about selling a life insurance policy because her husband Parkinson’s disease had advanced to the point where he could no longer work.
I had told her yes of course, and that selling a life insurance policy is appropriate depending on the family situation. Because they had one child already in college and another graduating from high school this year and will be soon going to college that perhaps selling some of her husbands life insurance might be a good thing to help bridge these costs to get the girls through college.
We just completed the sale of some of the life insurance which was only term life insurance, and the family received a 6 figure life settlement as a result. This has taken a great deal of pressure off my clients and are now very comfortable knowing the funds are set aside to meet their daughter’s tuition and other costs of going to college. To see the look on my clients face when I told them that we were able to get this amount of money on his term life insurance policy and that they could stop worrying about how they were going to make ends meet, was overwhelming to me.
