A life settlement provider is a company that purchases life insurance policies. The provider is typically a corporation or Investment Company that purchased the life insurance policies offered for sale and then may or may not sell them as investments. When dealing with a life settlement provider it is a good idea to do some background work and always ask questions if you do not recognize whom you are dealing with. It is unusual to find a life settlement provider that is not willing to answer your questions. When we, as brokers, deal with life settlement providers we are cautious with whom we deal with if we don’t know them. We ask a lot of questions and do some research to find out what kind of settlement provider they are, who owns them and what if any problems they have had with regulatory agencies. If the provider can adequately answer these questions then we will recommend them to our clients.
