About Stephen R. Bathon

Stephen R. Bathon CLU, ChFC, AEP has lived in Warrenton, Virginia with his wife Gayle for 34 years. Warrenton, in the foot hills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, was occupied and re-occupied, 65 times by both armies during the American Civil War. It was also the home of John Mosby, the confederate “Gray Ghost” who lived right down the street. Since 1970 Steve has been involved with insurance sales and estate planning in the Washington/Baltimore area. From 1970 to 1975 with Connecticut General Insurance Company, from 1976 to 1994 with his own company, Insurance Service Associates and from 1995 to 2004 he was the Regional Insurance and Estate planning Specialist for Smith Barney’s Estate and Trust Services Group. Today Steve works for himself and is still responsible for providing training and support in advanced estate planning, business succession, deferred compensation and insurance trusts and planning to hundreds Financial Consultants and their high net worth clients. Steve is a graduate of Fordham University, a Charted Financial Planner, and (ChFC); a Charted Life Underwriter, (CLU); Accredited Financial Planner (AFP); a member of the Washington DC Estate Planning Council and the National Association of Estate Planners and Councils. Prior to coming into the life insurance industry, Steve worked for W.R. Grace And Company as a financial analyst in New York City was an officer in the United States Army from 1964 to 1968.
